บรูไน
จัดเป็นประเทศที่มีประชากรต่ำกว่า 5แสนคนแต่กลับมีเทคโนโลยี 4G ใช้ในประเทศแล้ว โดยผู้ให้บริการรายใหญ่ 1ใน 2รายคือ DST กำลังเปิดให้บริการอยู่ ซึ่งในอนาคตยังไม่แน่ว่าบริษัท B-Mobile จะเปิดให้บริการ 4G เมื่อไหร่ อย่างไรก็ตาม เทคโนโลยี 4G เพิ่งเปิดให้บริการเมื่อเดือนที่ผ่านมา จึงยังไม่มีข้อมูลว่ามีคนจำนวนเท่าไหร่เปลี่ยนใจจาก 3G มาเป็น 4G (อ้างอิงข้อมูลวันที่ 11 Sep 2013)
กัมพูชา
สถานการณ์ล่าสุดคือบริษัทโทรคมนาคม Emaxx และ Xinwei Technologies สามารถประมูลสัมปทานจากรัฐบาลกัมพูชาได้เรียกร้อยตั้งแต่ Aug 2011และแม้บริษัท Purewave คู่สัญญาของ Emaxx ที่รับผิดชอบในการขยายเครือข่ายสัญญาณ 4G ให้แก่บริษัทจะระบุว่าภายในปี 2012จะมี 25เมืองในกัมพูชาสามารถใช้ 4G ได้ แต่ยังไม่มีข้อมูลยืนยันอย่างชัดเจน มีเพียงหน้าเวบของ Emaxx ที่ระบุว่ามีการเปิดให้ใช้งาน 4G อย่างเป็นทางการแล้ว
อินโดนีเซีย
สองบริษัทโทรคมนาคมยักษ์ใหญ่ของอินโดนีเซีย Telkomsel และ XL Axiata ทดลองการใช้ 4G ระหว่างการประชุมสุดยอดผู้นำ APEC Summit ตั้งแต่เดือน Oct 2013ที่บาหลี โดยเปิดให้ทดลองตามสถานที่ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการประชุมเช่น สนามบิน หอประชุม ศูนย์ประชุมนานาชาติบาหลี โรงแรมโซฟิเทล ทางด่วนบางสายบนบาหลี และพื้นที่ละแวกใกล้เคียง
สำหรับประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่ในจาการ์ต้า โบกอร์ เดโปะก์ ทันเกอรัง และเบกาซี สามารถเลือกใช้บริการ 4G ได้แล้วโดยมาในรูปแบบของเครื่องมือที่เรียกว่า Bolt ซึ่งถูกพัฒนาโดย Internux ผู้ให้บริการอินเตอร์เน็ตรายใหญ่ ทั้งนี้ เจ้า Bolt ดังกล่าวทำงานได้เหมือน wifi hotspot หรือ power bank ถือเป็นอุปกรณ์เคลื่อนที่ทำช่วยให้ผู้ใช้ต่อ 4G บนมือถือได้
ขณะที่บริษัท Indosat ซึ่งได้รับสิทธิสัมปทานจากรัฐบาลเมื่อ Sep ปีที่แล้วกำลังเริ่มพัฒนาโครงข่ายอย่างแข็งขัน ดังนั้นจึงเชื่อได้ว่าอินโดนีเซียจะมี 4G ใช้ในเร็ววัน (อ้างอิงข้อมูล 15 Nov 2013)
ลาว
มีรายงานตั้งแต่ Nov ปีที่แล้วว่า โครงข่าย 4G สามารถใช้ได้ในเมืองหลวงของลาว เวียงจันทร์ โดยผู้ให้บริการ Beeline และ Laotel อย่างไรก็ตาม การให้บริการนั้นดูเหมือนจะเป็นเพียงการทดลองให้บริการ เนื่องจากว่า จากรายงานแล้วมีการทดลองใช้ในช่วงการประชุม Asia-Europe Meeting Summit ครั้งที่ 9 กรุงเวียงจันทร์ วันที่ 5-6 Nov 2012จากนั้นก็หยุดการให้บริการ ดังนั้นจึงสรุปได้ว่าจนถึงขณะนี้ยังไม่มีการให้บริการ 4G อย่างเป็นทางการในประเทศลาว
มาเลเซีย
น่าทึ่งว่ามาเลเซียมี 4G ให้บริการบนพาหนะโดยผู้ให้บริการ Yes และ Proton แล้ว ไม่ต้องพูดถึงบนมือถือที่มีบริษัทโทรคมนาคม Celcom, Digi และ Maxis ให้บริการมาช้านาน ส่วน Telekom Malaysia กำลังเล็งที่จะให้บริการ 4G ภายในเดือน Feb ปีหน้า
เมียนมาร์
ปัจจุบัน รัฐบาลเมียนมาร์ให้สัมปทานแก่บริษัทโทรคมนาคมข้ามชาติสองรายคือ Telenor และ Ooredoo เมื่อเดือน June ปีนี้ โดยอนุญาตให้เริ่มพัฒนาโครงข่ายสัญญาณ แต่ที่น่าสนใจคือที่ได้สัมปทานนั้นนะ คือ 3G ดังนั้นเชื่อขนมกินได้ว่า 4G คงต้องรอไปอีกนาน อย่างไรก็ตาม IDC ประเมินว่าตลาดสมาร์ทโฟนของเมียนมาร์จะโตจากไม่มีเลยไปสู่ 6ล้านเครื่องภายในปี 2017
ฟิลิปปินส์
บริษัทโทรคมนาคมยักษ์ใหญ่ของฟิลิปปินส์มี 2บริษัทคือ Smart และ Globe โดย Smart เริ่มเปิดใช้งาน 4G ไปตั้งแต่เดือน Aug 2012และ Globe ตามรอยให้บริการตามมาในเดือน Oct ปีเดียวกัน ทั้งนี้ ในปี 2013บริษัทโทรคมนาคมยักษ์ใหญ่เล็งจะเพิ่มจำนวนผู้ใช้ 4G โดยล่าสุดทั้งสองบริษัทออกผลิตภัณฑ์ SIM pre-paid เพื่อดึงส่วนแบ่งตลาดเพิ่มเติม ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นว่ามีการแข่งขันในตลาดโทรคมนาคมอย่างรุนแรงในฟิลิปปินส์ (อ้างอิงข้อมูล 21 Aug 2012)
สิงคโปร์
สิงคโปร์ถือเป็นแชมป์มี 4G ใช้เป็นประเทศแรกของภูมิภาคอาเซียน โดยบริษัทแรกที่นำเข้ามาใช้คือ SingTel ขณะที่ M1 Limited เป็นบริษัทแรกที่สามารถขยายโครงข่ายไปทั่วประเทศได้ ส่วนสถานการณ์ปัจจุบัน ขณะนี้มีผู้ให้บริการ 4G ทั้งหมดสามบริษัทคือ Starhub, M1และ Singtel (อ้างอิงข้อมูล 5 June 2012)
ไทย
ประเทศนี้ช่างน่าสนใจเพราะแม้คณะกรรมการกิจการกระจายเสียง กิจการโทรทัศน์ และกิจการโทรคมนาคมแห่งชาติ (กสทช.) จะให้สัมปทาน 3G แก่สามบริษัทโทรคมนาคมยักษ์ใหญ่คือ Dtac, AIS และ TrueMove ไปเป็นที่เรียบร้อยเมื่อปีที่แล้ว แต่ปัจจุบัน กสทช. กลับยังไม่ประกาศวันประมูลคลื่นความถี่ 1800เมกกะเฮิร์ทซซึ่งเป็นคลื่นความถี่ที่ใช้รองรับบริการ 4G ให้ชัดเจนเสียที ความไม่ชัดเจนนี้ส่งผลให้เมื่อต้นปีนี้ TrueMove เริ่มให้บริการ 4G บนคลื่นความถี่ 2100เมกกะเฮิร์ทซซึ่งทำให้เกิดกระแสวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ว่าเหตุใด TrueMove จึงให้บริการ 4G บนคลื่นความถี่เดียวกับ 3G และถือเป็นคลื่นความถี่ที่ไม่ถูกต้องตามมาตรฐานสากลด้วย แต่ที่สุดแล้วประเทศไทยก็ถือว่ามีบริการ 4G ให้ได้ใช้จากบริษัท TrueMove กับเขาเสียที ถึงจะมีแค่ในกรุงเทพฯ เท่านั้นก็ตามทีเถอะ (อ้างอิงข้อมูล 8 May 2013)
เวียดนาม
เวียดนามยังไม่มีการให้บริการ 4G และมีแนวโมว่าจะต้องรอไปถึงปี 2015ซึ่งเป็นปีที่รัฐบาลจะเริ่มเปิดมอบสัมปทาน ซึ่งก็เหมือนกรณีของประเทศไทยที่ยังไม่มีข้อสรุปเรื่องจะให้บริการบนคลื่น ความถี่ไหน
ซึ่งดูจากแนว โน้มประเทศในอาเซียนแล้ว ประเทศที่นำหน้าเค้าก็ยังคงเป็นเมืองสิง กับเพื่อนบ้านเราอย่างมาเล ส่วนพี่ไทยเรานั้น ถ้าหันมาสามัคคีกันอย่างเป็นจริงเป็นจัง ก็คงจะได้มีใช้กันในเร็วๆนี้นะครับ
